Efrat Sher-Censor, Ph.D.

Research Associate, Department of Psychology, University of California, Riverside.

I specialize in parent-child relationships in normative and at risk populations. My areas of research are:
1. Individuation in families of adolescents and its implications on the adaptation of adolescents and early adults. More specifically, I study the interplay between culture and gender in understanding the developmental significance of individuation.
2. Child and parent inner-representations regarding their relationship, and the interplay between these representations and parent's and child's behavior.

I am currently a research associate at the University of California, Riverside. I work with Distinguished Prof. Ross Parke and Prof. Scott Coltrane at the Center for Family Studies and with Prof. Tuppett Yates at the Adversity and Adaptation Lab

I received my PhD in Developmental Psychology in Fall 2007 from the University of Haifa, Israel. My advisors were Prof. David Oppenheim and Prof. Avi Sagi-Schwartz at the Center for the Study of Child Development.

More details can be found in my CV.
