Dear fellow members,

 We had a wonderful speech contest last night; and thanks for all the contestants that brought us such a good evening!

Below are the winners for 3 contests; and they are going to represent SZTM club to the next level contest.

   You are warmly welcomed to attend our 151st chapter meeting of SZTM on Mar,31st,2009.
 
    Life in Shezhen is really not easy.People are stressed out sometimes.Every day,we are busy doing our jobs.After work,the only thing that we want to do is to have a rest.We don't have time to make more friends,read more books, do more exercise,spend more time with family members and so on.What is your opinion about your life in Shenzhen? In Table Topic master,we are going to know more about your opinions.
   Firmly believe that you are still impressed by the last meeting.During the last meeting,Sun told us his stories about his life schedule.James expressed his opinion about his reconsideration about the holding of the Olympic Games.Laura shared her concern about the environmental problems.Koby, the humorous Tomaster that evening gave us lots of laughters.It was really a wonderful meeting!
 
   Next meeting, Paolo,a new member will deliver his ice-breaker speech.What will Koby tell us again?Looking forward to his wonderful speech.Jasmine is going to tell us something about insomnia which was supposed last meeting.Robert will deliver a very important speech to us.
 
    I am sure four of the speakers'speech will again let us learn more things,broaden our minds and lead us to enjoy the beautiful language-English.Come and join us!

In some countries, people are keen on outdoor activities. E.G. Americans. They like different ball games, travel, picnic, barbecue, camping, sun-bathing etc.

 A recent survey finds that the British enjoy indoor activities: Watching TV, listening to the radio, reading, DIY,gardening etc. They spend about 44% of their free time watching television, the average time spent on watching TV is 25 hours per person per week.

 Are you staying in the offices in high buildings and large mansions every day? Haven't you breathe the fresh air and close to the nature for a long time? Are you tired of invariable life? Perhaps an outdoor activity will help you relax. In China, outdoor activities are getting more and more popular. What about you? What is your favorate outdoor activity or indoor activity? …

The meaning of life

The meaning of life constitutes a philosophical question concerning the purpose and significance of human existence. The concept can be expressed through a variety of related questions, such as Why are we here? What's life all about? and What is the meaning of it all?. It has been the subject of much philosophical, scientific, and theological speculation throughout history and there have been large answers from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds.  

 

Let us meet on the night of 18 Nov 2008 and discuss the meaning of life!

 

In this meeting, we will have 3 quality prepared speakers.   Jessica Zheng, our deputy VPM, an active and passionate lady, will show his project 4 speech.  Jasmin Zhai, our VPM, an effective and elegant lady from MSC HR, will present her project 6 speech: 90/10 Principle. Koby Sa, a humorous and lazy gentleman, will deliver his project 6 speech too. 

 

Let us expect their wonderful speech!

 

In Development Session, David Gorsline will give his senior speech: Keeping the Commitment.  David Gorsline is a former Canadian school administrator, presently teaching at the Sino-Canada International School in Shenzhen, China. David is also a qualified strategic planning facilitator, as well as trained in Negotiation, mediation & conflict resolution and a former non-violent crisis intervention instructor. Hobbies: Stamp collecting, travel, reading. Sports: swimming, sailing. Toastmasters experience; ATM-S David Gorsline has been a Toastmaster for 16 years. David has competed in Speech Competitions and given workshops on Speech Evaluation in both Canada and China. He also won an evaluation competition in Canada.
