Daniel Cai: I am from Hubei province. I graduated from Nanjing University of Science and Technology and have been living and working in Shenzhen for almost eight years. I have spent six years studying and have received two bachelor’s degrees in engineering and economics. I used to work for the ZTE Corporation as a technical engineer, for English First (EF) as the president’s assistant, and for an electronics company as an overseas sales manager. I love travelling and I have travelled extensively in more than 10 countries. Currently I am working as a freelance freelance interpreter and English teacher.

Jane Lee: June 7, 2005, I went to my first Toastmasters meeting. After the meeting, I was still not sure what was going on. While encouraged by the kindly smile all over the place, I joined the second meeting and become a member. I was very shy and had few friends in SZ at that time. One business friend told me that I might be interested in it and it turns out to be a total change in my life. After graduation, I worked as a salesman in a Japanese company called Marubeni for 4 years. After that I worked as a manager and DGM of south China division of a Korean paper company until end of last year. This year I am running small biz of my own mainly selling paper to printmills. Recently my biz is in a lot of trouble due the our export slump. My favorite sport is tennis, I play twice a week. I like both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadel. In the weekend I also climb the mountain near my home. I like reading, but only from last year, I spend a lot of time reading different kinds of books. I usually stay one day in Library on Sat. I also like listening music with my Hi-fi. Travelling is a luxury , I do 1 or 2 times in a year. For me, speaking has not been what I am good at all the years. It is may be about character. But recently I compare speaking with playing tennis, I can play 3 hours tennis without feeling tired. But I may get tired after speaking half an hour. Maybe I need to make speaking as a sport, try to do it with more passion, with more wisdom. It can help me to make more friends , to make more new ideas through communication. Toastmaster club offer me such an environment, and I feel warm there. |
