During the year 2009, we have sponsored several fundraising activities. The first was a house and garden tour on June 14. 76 people bought tickets and enjoyed touring several old houses in Shell Rock. The Fourth of July weekend is always a busy time for us. We had a float in the parade and opened the museum for visitors. In the evening, we sold popcorn and pop to raise money for the museum. Then, on August 22, we hosted our third annual Tractor Tour of Shell Rock. 35 tractors spent the day riding the roads around Shell Rock and visited the Ethanol plant outside Shell Rock. We thank the participants for supporting this activity. Most importantly, we thank the volunteers who worked and the businesses who donated to make the day a success. On September 5, we opened the garage for exhibits. John Johnson cut the ribbon, as he had insulated and paneled the garage for his Eagle Scout project. We will use the garage for agricultural, gas station and tools exhibits. Over 40 people visited and tour this new exhibit. |
