towns of Canton, Sharon and Stoughton for an energy, water and climate forum
titled “Recipe for the Future”. This forum is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Sharon and Stoughton and the Canton Public Library. The following three highly professional presentations will inform, inspire and provide practical ways to save energy, water, money and our home—this Planet: 1) Regional Advocacy Lead at Oxfam America (Greater Boston Area) is Mike Meldonian. Mike’s presentation “Can We Stay Ahead of Climate Change Impacts?” relates to how climate impacts are already affecting the poorest communities around the world and ultimately our national security . 2) Executive Director of the Neponset River Watershed Association, Ian Cooke, will present “Saving Locally: The Water/Energy/Climate Connection” which relates to how water, energy and climate affect one another, and what we can do to protect the the Neponset River and the water supply in Canton,Sharon & Stoughton. 3) Executive Director at Massachusetts Climate Action Network is Rob Garrity. Rob will be addressing “Cutting Costs at Home: The Low Carbon Diet”. This last presentation relates to ways to help fight global warming by cutting our daily consumption of energy. There will be time for Q & A’s for each speaker. This is a free event. Light refreshments will be served. There will be energy saving door prizes and information for action.
