Ne-hao! ... yea, thats about the only Chinese that I know. With all the travelling over the past few days, today was the first day we all finally got to get to the track and get back to work. The city that we are in built 3 brand new tracks just for us to be here for the next few weeks. Nice huh? There's nothing like having some good scenery when working out!
This is my coach Michael, by the way. Since he normally coaches me over long distance email and videos, its really nice to have him here for the next couple of weeks.
The Chinese volunteers here have bent over backwards to assist us with whatever we need. There must have been 50 Chinese volunteers at the track and probably only 30 athletes so far!
And of course I have to include the picture of the police escorts that take us to the track everyday. I still can't get over this.
So, other than practice it was a pretty low key day today. So we all spent our time in the athlete lounge in our hotel playing ping pong, cards, and going bowling (there is a bowling alley inside the hotel). It's always interesting playing games with a bunch of track athletes, because everyone gets so competitive and rowdy... but we all had a lot of fun. Oh by the way, I BEAT EVERYONE IN BOWLING today! They were all mad at me :) However, to be fair... we played doubles in ping pong... and I don't think I could pay anyone to be my partner ever again..haha.
Tomorrow's team excursion... shopping! Can't wait!
