Blog #18: Aug 22nd: China Sights

I know it has been a while since I have blogged, but I just dropped my family off at the airport and for those of you who know my family well.... know why I have not had any time to blog since they have been here. We have been running around non stop touring and I am exhausted! So, I will try to give you a quick update on what we have done the past few days...

Well, we experienced the Silk Market. This was hands down the most entertaining shopping I have ever done. It's basically this huge multi level shopping area with bags, clothes, shoes, jewelry... anything you could ever want. And what makes it fun is that you can bargain your price... and they want your money so bad that they will literally PULL you back into their shop to buy from them. If you even glance at something like you might want to buy it, they will NOT leave you alone. They even helped Jamie try on this dress she thought was cute.

The following day we had our tour guide Cassie come and show us around again. The plan was the Great Wall, with a few stops on the way. First was the cermamic factory. They hand make them in China and they can take as long as a few months depending on the piece. They were beautiful!!!

Next stop was the Ming Tombs, where Chinese Emporers were buried.

Part 2 coming soon....
