The growth of the AVM didn't really start to be noticable until I was about 11-12 years old.  Although there was a little swelling previously, it was small enough that you wouldn't notice unless you knew to look for it.  As you can see, after 6th grade, my chin and the side of my face continued to increase in size, sometimes slowly and other times in spurts.  The last few pictures are recent images that show the ugly non-healing wound on my lip as well as some of the results of the embolizations in Denver which I started in October 2007.
