Teaching (Spring 2012) Office Hours: Mon 11:30-12:30, Wed 2:30-4, Thurs 1:15-2:15, Fri 12-1 Classes: CS332 - Operating Systems
I received my PhD in Computer-Science and Engineering and the interdisciplinary graduate program Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, and Behavior at Michigan State University last May 2010. I worked in the Devolab (Digital Evolution Laboratory) under Dr. Charles Ofria and Dr. Rich Lenski. I am now in my 2nd year as an assistant professor of Computer Science at Carleton College, where I can pursue both of my goals: excellent college computer-science education and exciting research with undergraduate students in evolutionary computation.
Outside of school I spend my time running/hiking/biking/climbing/camping/traveling, as much as possible with my dogs Adelaide and Athena. Also reading mostly science-fiction and fantasy novels (in Spanish when I can), playing the occasional video game, and practicing/competing with my traveling ultimate frisbee team.
