School:

• grew up and went to school in West Hartford, CT 

• attended Miami University (the one in Ohio) for the next four years
• started working in a spatial vision lab with Dr. Lynn Olzak during the summer after my junior year and continued until the summer after my senior year
  
• became interested in vision and decided to go to graduate school at Northeastern University in Boston with Dr. Rhea T. Eskew Jr.
• I am in my fifth and final year of the program
  

Personal Life:

• my wife Michele and I were married in September of 2007

• Michele is a genetic counselor at Mass. General Hospital 
• she recently finished running Boston Marathon to raise money for the MGH Children's Cancer Center--and she loved every moment of it
  

• we have a cat named Gracie 

• we currently live a few blocks away from Fenway Park

• I grew up a Yankees fan (and still am one), but it's hard not to get at least a little caught up in the Red Sox living a few blocks away from Fenway 
  

• I am hooked on the TV show LOST

• my sister, Lauren, currently lives out in L.A. and is an aspiring (and talented) screen writer 
• if you need someone to write you something funny, she's your girl
  

Professional Aspirations :

• I hope to use my knowledge of experimental psychology and the visual system in a more applied setting

• I enjoy teaching, and hope to be able to continue helping others learn whether in an academic setting or not
