They are also good for the home defense

The Hantanto and Manshuto can cut much better

on Tuesday, September 15th, 2009.

Our Sensei used to go to the No-Buta-Gari ( Wild boar hunting )
during the mid 1980's in the Hillsburg area.
After hunting some boars with his Nambu Automatic pistol 8 mm
or Long Colt revolver 45 or Smith & Wesson 44 Magnum,
he used the Hantanto or Manshuto for the Tameshi-giri
( Test cutting ) mainly.

Other Tameshi-giri swords that were used by our Sensei:
1. A Nanbokucho Era Oo-surigage Mumei sword
