SFS Food Bank The San Francisco Solano food bank offers temporary assistance to local residents in need. The SFS food back is always in need of non-perishable food items such as: cereal, peanut butter, dry milk, pasta, pasta sauce, canned meats, canned vegetables, and canned fruit. We will continue to collect food for the food bank during the Women's Circles sessions. Please check back for needed donations.
Catholic Worker The Catholic Worker in Santa Ana offers food and shelter for the homeless. Catholic Worker has many needs such as helping to make and serve dinner. SFS is scheduled to serve on the 4th & 5th Sunday every month (see bulletin for details). We will have a box labeled "Catholic Worker". Please feel free to put donated items in the box for delivery.
Paragon Gardens Assisted living facility. We put a get-together a tea in February for the residents at Paragon Gardens. These are usually held on Saturday mornings so those that work during the weekday have an opportunity to attend. Others can participate by making food or party favors. We also like to have some kind of entertainment for these events so if you know someone who plays an instrument, dances, sings, does storytelling or magic, etc, please let Carol Reilly know. Finding entertainment has been a challenge. We will be putting together care bags with make-up, lotions, personal hygiene items, etc. for the senior living residents for the Mother's day get-together. Please check back for future announcements.
The Homeless The homeless in San Juan Capistrano. We will continue collecting socks for the homeless in San Jan Capistrano during the Women's Circle sessions.
Project SUCCESS Support for Urban Children in Catholic elementary Schools in Santa Ana. We will be having a garage sale again to raise money for the 4 Catholic Schools in Santa Ana - last year we were able to raise enough to pay for a couple of scholarships for low-income students. Date & Location are still in the works.
