Criteria This award is given to a member who nearly looses or risks losing his/her life in an act of rescue and/or giving aid and assistance. When recommending this award, please explain in as much detail exactly what the person(s) did, when and give any extra details you can give.
NOTE: This award does not apply to those who have an occupation that regularly invokes risk. The exception is when the member performs an act of heroism and/or rescue above while off-duty. Ribbon Description DARK BLUE Devices Gold “V” (Valor)
Lieutenant General Les Rickard-USS NORMANDY NCC-36000 - While returning from the Region 2 Summit, LGN Rickard pulled a woman from a wrecked and burning vehicle, thus saving her life Captain Greg Franklin-USS Reprisal NCC-1896-for risking life and limb to rescue a young boy earlier this year from a near drowning incident having to cross over swift and dangerous water, not to mention a bridge literally crumbling under their feet. The Boy had water in his lungs and was suffering from hypothermia. Greg did everything he could to warm the boy and keep him awake until professional help arrived. Ambassador Lisa Hiler–USS Columbia NCC-75017- For gallant and unselfish service to an injured motorist, without regard for her personal safety, on 16 Feb, 2001. LtJG Jeremy Grabbe–USS Columbia NCC-75017- For gallant and unselfish service to an injured motorist, without regard for his personal safety, on 30 March, 2001 Capt Greg Franklin–USS Reprisal NCC-1896- For risking life and limb in order to save the life of a motorist who lost control of her vehicle in bad weather. Without regard to his own personal safety, Captain Franklin dealt with the hazardous conditions and came to the aid of the motorist who had several serious injuries. Cadet Thomas William Heffner–USS Gallifray NCC-81631- for his act of heroism and bravery in the face of what could have been great injury and death, riskin' his life to save a fellow livin' creature from certain death. For his self sacrifice and demonstration of the kind of character each of us who call ourselves STARFLEET members and Star Trek Fans, who preach such ideals, are suppose to practice each day of our lives. Captain Harold Spears - USS Revelation NCC-63551 - March 21. 2010, harold without refard to his own personal safety after witnessing a car crash between a Honda automobile and the NASCAR Hauler of driver Kyle Busch stopped the and rendered first aid to the victim of said crash as well as removing the victim from the car, that was on fire, before it exploded thereby putting his own life at risk as well.
