Criteria If a SFI-Region One unit is challenged by another unit or outside club, to take part in a function that will benefit a charity or cause, the unit is awarded this citation. Documentation must be included that shows the official involvement of the unit being cited.

USS Charleston– with USS Rouge Phoenix (Region 2) assisted in SETI Trek V Convention and engaged in Fund Raising Competition to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis in 1997.
USS Jamestown– On April 21, 2001, the USS Jamestown and the IKV Bat'Leth held a Klingon- STARFLEET Blood Feud "Blood Drive for the American Red Cross" at the Virginia Air and Space Center. A total of 156 pints of blood were donated at the event. USS Asgard & USS Columbus –-for raising funds for the Civil War Preservation Trust to save the hallowed ground at the site of the Second Manassas Battle During the R-1 2003 Summit members of the USS Reprisal NCC-1896 competed with 4 other units in the Jolly Roger Contest. This event was planned by the summit staff, and money was raised for various charities by voting for the best flag. Over $50 was raised for the R-1 Relief Fund. The USS Reprisal was the victor of the competition, and the following crewmembers spent a great deal of time and energy on this project. USS Bonaventure NCC-27419 - During Stellarcon 32, March 2008 the Bonaventure challenged KAG, specifically the the Dark Moon Fleet, to donate items to Stellarcon's charity auction, which annually raises money for Hospice of High Point, NC. The Bonaventure crew rose to the challenge and delivered several shuttle loads of items for the auction, thereby winning the charity challenge. IVK Kem'pec - The IVK Kem' pec is a local independent Star Trek Klingon group who does a great deal of charity work. This year the K'mPec challenged the Columbus to a school supply drive where each club would collect school supplies for whatever school needed assistance with supplies. The K'mPec collected 1,187 items to the Columbus' 232 items, the declared winner of the challenge by both clubs were the children who received the school supplies.(211010.20) USS Columbus - This past year we were in a challenge with the IKV Kem'pec for school supplies. Both clubs collected schools supplies to assist needy children. The clubs donated the supplies to 2 different places, the Columbus adopted the Hawthorne School and the Kem'pec donated to St. Stevens Community House. (211112.28) |
