When the election results first came in,
I was honestly discouraged and somewhat upset.
When I arrived at work and everyone was smiling and greeting me with words of congradulations, I felt reserved, anti-social and ill.
When I drove home and prayed, then those feelings passed. And they passed because I realized that no matter what happens, no matter who the president is or what bills and policies are out there, its the individual people that I have been called to share God's great news and light for the world.
God hasn't left us, or abandoned us, He hasnt gone into hiding or decided to play a little joke on the world, instead He is offering us an oppurtunity to do as President-elect Obama has been saying: To Make A Change.
Barrack Obama's speech in Chicago rings true for our mission as well as Christians in this secular world. This Night, and This Moment, Amerca has changed. And the great thing about change is, it never really stops and its not really suppose to and most importantly is never controlled by anyone but only defined in God's great wisdom.
So go ahead and celebrate, go ahead and move forward with your work for the Lord, and you'll notice this time around that there are thousands more behind you all reaching for the same thing, all heading to the same place and all ready for the Lord's command.
Amen. |
