Did You Know?

Walt Hoffman built the “mini-house facade” display that was used at the St Francis  ministry fair back in Sep. After the fair Walt donated this display to Habitat.

Check out these links to see how Habitat has been putting this great display to good use.

See it behind David Crabtree for the Holiday Home tour.

They even make the house display available for Mission Fairs.

And don’t miss this one on their Apostles Build page (toward the bottom).

Weds. 10/15 - First Workday Report

(from Rene Revaz)
We had an AWESOME day out at the site today. The weather was warmer than we anticipated, but we got a lot done: reinforcing the OSB on the house, putting on the sill plate for the 2nd floor of the home, lifting up the (very heavy!) floor joists to that second floor, replacing a header on the front door, installing flashing and filling in LOTS of gravel inside both porch areas, digging a ditch (with a pickaxe, NOT a "mattock", sorry Dennis! A "mattock" is a hand tool version of a pickaxe) for the French drain.  Very busy.

Now, on a side note, there was a huge group from Cisco at the site today. I need to find out from Shanna or Norma if they had no where else to go, or whether it is normal for other groups BESIDES our 13 churches to work on the house. I was a little surprised, (not disappointed, mind you, but surprised) but they were wonderful, worked very hard, and sweated a lot for our family.
