(from Bob) The day started a bit drizzly, but 13 St. Francis volunteers working
with folks from St. Michael's Episcopal Church made some great progress on the
Apostles Build house on our first Saturday workday. The crew raised two second
floor walls into place, wrapped the first floor with Tyvek moisture barrier,
roughed in the stairway, added blocking to several walls, and built the front
porch beams. After a great lunch prepared by members of St. Michaels, the sun
came out and the PM shift hammered on. There was a slight delay at one point as
the Habitat staff scrambled to find enough nails to keep the hammers flying but
it turned out to be a great workday. |
