        CRASH!

                                    BANG!

                                                              BOOOOOM!

Have you ever heard those sounds and wondered what happens during severe weather?  Here is your chance!

Your job is to research a type of severe weather like hurricanes, tornadoes, or floods.
You and your team will write a news bulletin giving information on the features of the severe weather, the causes, and how to stay safe.  Then your team will create a mural of the severe weather to use as the backdrop for your breaking news bulletin.  This newscast will be presented to the class and recorded for future presentations.

Click here to check out the rubric and what the teachers require from you.

Did you take a look at your job requirements?  Okay, then, news anchor, just like any other news person, you have to do the research!  Think about the following questions...

        1.  What are the features of your severe weather?
        2.  What causes your severe weather (how does your severe weather form)?
        3.  How can you stay safe?

Now that you have your questions, click here for your graphic organizer.
It is time for you and the other news anchors to begin researching!  Discuss with your team and choose a type of severe weather below by clicking on the word.

Remember you are only choosing ONE type of severe weather to research!

               FLOODS                     HURRICANES                   TORNADOES
