Allergy Warning – Some of the actors will wear latex-based prosthetics for character enhancement.  A latex allergy will not eliminate you from consideration for a role.  For your safety, it is imperative that you notify the production staff.

Adult Vocal Audition:

You are welcome to sing a piece from the show, or you may chose a vocal selection from another source so long as it successfully demonstrates your ability to sing.  SEUSSICAL has a variety of musical styles, so if you are not singing anything from the show, you should chose something from these genres.

Adult Movement Audition:

This takes place at the conclusion of your vocal audition hour.  You, and the other individuals who auditioned that same hour will be taught a simple series of choreographed movement.  Unless you are interested in being cast in a role that requires a separate “DANCE AUDITION”, your 2010 Muni audition is concluded after you have executed the choreographed movement instructed.  If in doubt… err on the side of caution and sign up for the Dance Audition.

Adult Dance Audition:

A separate dance audition is required in order to be considered for specific roles.  The Director and Choreographer from each production team designate which characters must have a separate dance audition because of the complexity of dance required of these characters.  Staffs will therefore need to see your ability to execute a more complicated dance routine.

Character roles requiring a dance audition are listed at www.themuni.org, the 2010 issue of SIGHTLINES, and are notated in red in the “Character Information” section of this website.

Adult Callbacks:

Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, March 14th, 2010 at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.  Seussical’s callbacks will include an additional dance/movement exercise, script readings and vocal work.

Adult Casting:

The adult casting meeting takes place beginning at 6:30 pm on Monday, March 15th.  This meeting typically takes several hours, and at the conclusion, production staff’s begin calling individuals who were cast in each show.  These calls can come as late as 11:00 pm, so it can be a late night for actors, production staffs, and the Muni volunteers alike.

Children’s Auditions and Callbacks:

Children’s auditions are scheduled for Saturday, March 20th at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.  In the past, the children are taught a song to sing as a group, and then have a chance to sing it back to the production staffs.  This year, only ANNIE and SEUSSICAL production teams will be attending these auditions, as only these shows have roles for 8-13 year olds.  However, the specific format has yet to be determined.  As soon as it is, the format will be placed on this website.

Children’s callbacks take place on Sunday, March 21st at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.  Again, Seussical’s callbacks for the kids will include some movement and dance exercises, some performance exercises, vocal work and script readings.

Children Casting:

Children Casting takes place immediately after callbacks, with phone calls taking place that Sunday evening.
