Introduction
The web is evolving into a global interactive marketplace. Every minute new content is being posted on various forums, review sites, blogs, media sharing sites, bookmarking sites, in chats, and on wikis. To the uninitiated the web may seem like a thick jungle where all information is lost. However, experienced navigators of the web know exactly how to find what they need when they need it through the use of RSS feeds, RSS readers, and Tags. This course is designed to instruct students to master these tools to enable them to get the information they need in a timely, efficient, and organized manner.

Course Description
Prerequisites: Computer/Internet Experience

Objectives:
1.    To introduce students to the social web.
2.    To instruct students on setting up RSS Readers.
3.    To instruct students on locating and subscribing to sites with RSS feeds.
4.    To introduce students to the best practices of Tags.
5.    To instruct students on using various search engines.

Training Method:
The course will be instructed in a 60 minute session using PowerPoint slides and delivered over the web using a Web conferencing tool that allows you to meet online. The course will be divided into six (6) sections with time for Q&A allotted after each session. Ongoing discussion, support and resources will be provided in the online community hosted by Ning.

Course Materials
•    Each session will come with a pdf training guide.
•    Each session will have a moderated private online community for students to continue to collaborate and ask questions.

Retake Policy
•    Students will be allowed to retake the course up to three times (when available).
