 Intro… Something we'd like to share with you about a new group that has sprung from MOPS international in the past year… MOMSnext…. literally, the next step after MOPS. Background… Bottom line, we are not ready to just move on after MOPS. As your children get older, new topics become relevant and REALLY important. This group continues to have the same mission as MOPS and that is to encourage, equip and develop mothers and now, mothers of school-age children. This group is to complement your current MOPS group and to allow moms to continue their journey in faith, relationships, women’s health issues, family matters, and of course, raising school age children. Meetings… MOPS meetings are so special with all that is involved. From your steering team to your meeting agenda, your meetings are meant to meet you fully as a mom. Your children are being cared for and you are getting time to yourself to relax, enjoy and soak in some healthy information to help you grow as a mom. MOPS International realizes moms need to grow and develop in all stages of their lives. Issues begin to change from diapers all the way to ring tones or parallel play in the sandbox to bullies on the playground. Therefore, MOMSnext meetings will be a little different in that they will get right into the core issues. Meetings will be a bit simpler yet similar in some ways. We’ll still have our coffee and warm up in the morning with announcements. At this point, we will jump into our topic at hand and spend the meeting time in discussion, sharing ideas, information and resources. We will refer to scripture to help with our spiritual guidance. We will also include how faith can help us grow in strength and understanding for the issue at hand. Bottom line, we want to feel more equipped to handle the current, relevant issues that are coming our way in a solid, faith-driven way. We start in September and meet through June. We’ll be holding our meetings once a month, on the 4th Tuesday of each month, except for June in which it will be a week earlier. Meeting times will start promptly at 9 am yet ladies are welcome to arrive early to chat over coffee. Meetings will end at 11 am.
