 Week 9:  lesson  10-introduction to research/research process/ gathering information/note taking

  • search for three research topics that you may want to do your paper on
  • create thesis statement with handout
  • make sure to have sources to support your thesis
  • read an example research paper with works cited and parenthetical notation
 
Week 10:  lesson 11-  notetaking/gathering information

  • continue to add sources to noodletools project as needed
  • Outline needs to be save to word
  • noodletools project needs to be exported to word, saved to V drive, edited for spacing, and printed out with outline
 
Week 11:   lesson 12--organizing information/Outlining
  •  read sources, articles, webpages to find support for body points of paper
  •  look over how and when to site sources with parenthetical notation in the research paper
 
Week 12:  lesson 13-- works cited page in noodletools/writing introduction and conclusion research paper
  • write introduction and conclusion--turn in rough draft of introduction and conclusion to Mrs. Murphy
  • create account and set up workscited page for research paper.  Pay attention to parenthetical notation tab within citation
                  lesson 14--writing
body rough draft research paper with parenthetical notation    
  • write the body of the research paper using parenthetical notation in the MLA form Make sure to document within the paper 
  • turn in as much of body done as possible for me to look over this week
  • keep adding sources to Noodletools as they are used within paper 
Week 13:  final draft of research paper
  • turn in final draft of paper--in this order--rubric, cover page, paper, and works cited page
Week 14:   complete final draft of research paper
  • look at handout on creative nonfiction
  • readings can be found on the cart
  • all hand written summaries, quantity and quality pieces due on Monday
