About the Director
Trent H. Walton
Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.  ~Victor Hugo
After growing up in the Eastern Guilford community, I graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2003 with a Bachelors of Music in Music Education. My principal instrument during that time was trumpet. I taught middle school and high school band for four years at Allen Jay Middle School and Southern Guilford High School before moving to Southeast Guilford in the fall of 2007.

As a performer, I was most recently a performer with the Piedmont Wind Symphony in Winston-Salem. During that time I performed with Dianne Schurr, Ronnie Milsap, Dionne Warwick, Arturo Sandoval, Three Dog Night, and Al Jarreau. During college I was a performer in many ensembles including the Trumpet Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Symphonic Band, University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble. I can be heard on recordings with both the University Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.

I am a member of MENC, NCMEA and the CDBA and served as the chairperson for the Middle School All-District Auditions in the Central District from December 2007 to January 2011.  In August 2010 I completed a Masters of Music in Music Education at UNC Greensboro and also married my wife, Caroline.
