The 7th edition of the MLA Handbook for writers of Research Papers by Joseph Gibaldi will be on sale at the Workshop. The book is priced at Rs.150/-. We have managed to get only around 30 copies, so those who are really keen on purchasing a copy of the book are requested to SMS (94470 56445) or write in to George Mathew (mail4gm@gmail.com) to book their copies.

Slumdog Millionaire is showing on Sony PIX today, Saturday 14 November at 9.00 pm. For participants who have not seen the movie at all, or have not seen it recently, this is a great chance to watch the movie.
A screening of the movie has also been arranged on Tuesday 17 November at Mar Ivanios College. Please see the posting titled Screening below (on the Updates page).

There will be a screening of the movie Slumdog Millionaire at 1.30 pm on Tuesday, 17 November at the Audio-visual Hall, Department of English, Mar Ivanios College. The screening is free and open to all participants of the Workshop.

- Those who intend to participate in the workshop are reminded that they will have to register by email or sms latest by Sunday Nov.15. This is mandatory because orders has to be placed for lunch and refreshments, and participants will have to do small pre-workshop tasks before they come for the workshop.
- M.A and M.Phil students who wish to participate have to register by Wednesday Nov 11 if they want to avail of the discount currently available for them. However they can register till Nov. 15 without the discount.

Permanent teachers who intend to participate in the Workshop are eligible for duty leave.
They will be issued attendance certificates and copies of documents from the DCE which support their claim for duty leave. We will also be sending information to the DDE offices at Kollam and Kottayam about the Workshop.
Only two teachers will be eligible for duty leave from each institution; this is to ensure that work does not suffer in their institution due to their absence.

M.A and M.Phil students (this does not apply to teachers who are doing the M.Phil course) can avail of discounted registration fees till Wednesday, November 11. The first five students who register will get a discount of 30%, the next ten a discount of 20% and a final fifteen a discount of 10%. Those who wish to avail of this discount must add "REQUEST FOR EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT" in the Registration Form which they will have to download from the Registration Details page, fill in, and send by email to mail4gm@gmail.com by 9 pm on November 11. They will also have to produce their ID card when they report for the Workshop. |
