So, Here's one thing I learned in college--students love their salsa.
Over the past decade, even decade-and-a-half for some, salsa college clubs have been sprouting up on Southern California campuses, big and small.
Whether you're in L.A., the Inland Empire, the Valley, the O.C.--wherever--you're probably not too far from a group of students getting their salsa on.
I've talked to presidents from 10 college salsa clubs. I've also talked to some of the professionals who've worked with them.
From these interviews, I've discovered that the past 10 to 15 years have been a big deal in the developmenmt of a growing salsa trend on So Cal campuses. The growth has been credited to a larger popularization of salsa in the L.A. area, particularly among young people.
Some of these college groups have been around for awhile and some are just budding. But all of them have a similar goal: spread the love of salsa! I know, it sounds a little cheesy, but that's how they said it.
