NHS services are now transferring to the New Selby War Memorial Hospital as patients and staff begin to benefit from the new state-of-the-art facilities. Selby District Council will transfer over to the new civic centre 1 August.

Since the keys to the new building were handed over earlier this month, a significant amount of work has taken place to ensure the hospital is ready to start operating services. This has included thorough cleaning of the site and the installation of a range of new equipment and furniture.

The building has been commissioned jointly by the local NHS and Selby District Council as part of a long-term goal of reducing expenditure on maintenance and running costs. This innovative partnership has been integral to the building getting the go-ahead.
