Mona Brooks, author of Drawing With Children, founded the drawing method known nationwide as Monart. She believes that being able to draw doesn't have to be an innate talent, but is a skill that anyone can hone by sharpening their powers of observation and breaking down the visual world into 5 basic elements of shape. SEE Co-op is proud to offer classes taught by teachers from the only certified Monart studio in Virginia (Alternatives). Our children are learning how to translate the 3-D world around them into 2-D. The students are learning how to focus, express themselves through drawing, and appreciate their art without judgement. Monart teaches that there are no mistakes, just learning experiences.
