SEDS India Elections 2009 is the online ballot exercise to elect the new national executive council of the Students for Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), India.

With contestants from its national chapters, this election is for all six seats of the national executive council, SEDS India's governing body.

This website is dedicated to maintain all information, campaign buzz, news and important events sorrounding this election.

WHO ARE THEY?

This page would provide you all the information about candidates contesting in the SEDS India Elections 2009. Awaiting their fate are 24 candidates from 5 chapters contesting for all of the six posts for which the elections take place.

Each post would thus contain biographical information along with details of the candidate's policies and programmes for each post.

Following are the requirements for being eligible for nominations:

President:
i. The President should have been a member of a chapter/individual member for at least 2 years before seeking nomination for election.
ii. The President should have successfully completed 2 projects and attended 2 events of SEDS at the minimum.
iii. Upon being elected President, he/she should not hold any other office in SEDS outside of the Executive Committee.
iv. The minimum age of the President shall be 18 years.
v. He should not have held the office of President of SEDS previously.

Other Positions:
i. All other members of the Executive Committee should have been a member of a chapter/individual member for at least 2 years.
ii. He/She should have successfully completed 1 project and attended 1 event of SEDS at the minimum.
iii.Upon being elected as a member of the Executive Committee, he/she should not hold any other office in SEDS outside of the Executive Committee.
iv.He/She should be at least 18 years old.

Please send in your nominations with the following information in a .doc format before 22nd April, 2009:
1. Name
2. Chapter
3. Previous Positions held at national or chapter level
4. Events participated/organised (description of each event and your contribution)
5. Projects participated/initiated (description of each project and your contribution)

The nominations will be reviewed by the Election Commissioner in consultation with the Executive Committee before they are accepted. Campaigning for the elections are to be held only after the final list of nominees is released by the Election Commissioner.
