Detailing the construction of New York's newest Subway line
Welcome! Relocation of utilities on the Upper East Side is underway as of April 23, 2007. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on April 12, 2007. Underground utilities will be relocated in order to create a launch box for the Tunnel Boring Machine will begin tunneling in 2008. Stay tuned for more updates.
Over the next few years, as construction takes place on Phase 1, between 63rd and 96th Streets in Manhattan, this site will give details regarding the status of the line. This first portion of the line is estimated to be complete in 2015, with a construction time of approximately 8 years.
