OpenSebJ may not be an expensive 'professional' tool like ProTools or Cubase and it doesn't have the polish of GarageBand but it shares some of the key elements of these tools and many others by providing a software interface to view, play, align, control and mix audio samples. OpenSebJ is design from scratch to provide the key functions in real time, want to hear a beat now, tap the key on you keyboard it's assigned to, want to save what your doing and quantise it latter, start recording the key tap positions.While OpenSebJ is a new kid on the block, the style and ideas have been contained in past works by the same author, take a trip down memory lane to Beat It and although OpenSebJ was written from scratch in .Net 2.0 some of the same concepts and ideas have been carried through.
