We recently held our AGM of the Atlantic Football League [this is our 4th year], a couple of new points for our league:
- The CFL has formally recognized our league, two players from the Holland College Hurricanes have been invited to CFL Training Camps and the CFL will be sending scouts to some of our games this fall.
- The AFL did very
well in attendance last year. We will operate in almost all the Major Maritime Cities in the Fall;
Fredericton, Saint John, Charlottetown
and Halifax - all 3 Maritime Provinces [the CIS only operates in one major city and only in 2
provinces]
- We greatly benefit our
universities, colleges and communities as we operate a very affordable high quality league, with lots of volunteers and sponsors. We create an opportunity for
young people to play in their
communities. Our Universities and Colleges benefit from our
volunteers and fundraising at virtually no
costs to them while attracting a large number of student athletes to these schools. Football teams are the largest teams at our schools
with the least investment by the school.
- We operate with the age group of 18 to 24 years of age.
- We have created a very fun, social event with very good attendance that greatly benefits our universities, colleges and communities and we are helping to keep our young people home and to increase our student enrollments. All teams play on Saturdays. Seawolves will play at 7:30 pm.
