Monthly meeting
In lieu of our usual monthly meetings in July and September we will have special events: the
SES Picnic, and
NOREK.
PICNIC (July Meeting of SES)
at the Kerrs' boat, with electric boat (photo!) ride around Lake Union
SES PICNIC Saturday, July 11, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Reservations needed. Please contact Arlyn Kerr by email at the special address
pikniko2009@morsekob.org and let her know if you plan to attend (need a head count for the boat tour). Arlyn's announcement to the group on our
Yahoo! group Seatlo follows: Instead of our usual monthly meeting, in July we'll have a potluck picnic on our boat on Lake Union. Besides that, we'll go around the lake in an electric boat (see a photo at http://tinyurl.com/l33fgo ). Because of that, it would be good to know how many people are coming. The electric boat can hold ten passengers; if there are more we'll plan to take two trips around the lake. If you intend to come, either for sure or possibly, contact me (using the special address below), and I'll give you instructions for finding us. The event will begin at 11:00, and finish about 1:00. Please bring the kind of food you'd bring to a park -- don't count on an oven, a lot of utensils, etc. I'll have plates, silverware, cups, and various juices and sodas, so no need to bring those.

NOREK
Northwest Regional Esperanto Conference will take place September 11-13; the conference hotel will be the
Victoria Airport Travelodge Hotel in
Sidney, British Columbia. Join the Yahoo! group
NOREK to have the most up-to-date information on NOREK. Remember that
you will need a passport or its near equivalent to travel to Canada. The conference is being organized by Wally du Temple, who writes that there will be entertaining as well as serious components to the program, with the serious ones focusing on the theme "2009: Year of Astronomy". Wally also draws our attention to a new gallery recently opened in Sidney:
The Marine Mammal Gallery. Please reserve rooms at the hotel as early as possible, and be sure to let them know that you are an Esperantist and will be participating in the conference.
