Reserving rooms at the Mountaineers Program Center  (Magnusson Park)
Room rentals are done through Shauna Broady (shaunab@mountaineers.org; 206 521 6005).  The building layout is linked here (.pdf); and the rooms you can rent are "Conference," "Cascade," and "Goodman."  Goodman is commonly broken up into sections, and it appears that Cascade can be too.  A calendar showing room reservations is linked here.  As of Spring 2011, there might be a new procedure for reserving rooms.  An old form that gives you a sense of what our room needs are for the backpacking class (Goodman A & B) is linked to the 2009 class information below.

  • Define the class in the database the same as you would a regular trip.  Go to "Activity Set up."  For the "destination name", enter "Backpacking Course - Seattle" --- it will be the third of three very similar looking "destinations."  The correct "destination" will have brief "activity reports" for the previous years.

  • Kindra Ramos of the Washington Trails Association came and provided information to the students on the WTA activities.  Kindra also brought copies of the WTA bi-monthly magazine for the students ( kindra@wta.org ).
