Monthly New Member Nights: Have been replaced with quarterly "Meet the Mountaineers" events. Same idea, more organization and advertising.

Reserving rooms at the Mountaineers Program Center (Magnusson Park) Room rentals are done through Shauna Broady (shaunab@mountaineers.org; 206 521 6005). The building layout is linked here (.pdf); and the rooms you can rent are "Conference," "Cascade," and "Goodman." Goodman is commonly broken up into sections, and it appears that Cascade can be too. A calendar showing room reservations is linked here. As of Spring 2011, there might be a new procedure for reserving rooms. An old form that gives you a sense of what our room needs are for the backpacking class (Goodman A & B) is linked to the 2009 class information below.

- Define the class in the database the same as you would a regular trip. Go to "Activity Set up." For the "destination name", enter "Backpacking Course - Seattle" --- it will be the third of three very similar looking "destinations." The correct "destination" will have brief "activity reports" for the previous years.

- Kindra Ramos of the Washington Trails Association came and provided information to the students on the WTA activities. Kindra also brought copies of the WTA bi-monthly magazine for the students ( kindra@wta.org ).
