Managed jointly by TVA, the Tennessee Department of Conservation, and the City of Tullahoma, Short Springs Natural Area contains hiking trails and features waterfalls and rare wildflowers. The area is open year round during daylight hours.

South Jackson Civic Center: South Jackson Civic Association was formed in 1977 to "Save South Jackson", a grass-roots effort to halt the destruction of the first public school building in Tullahoma built in 1886.  We opened our doors as the South Jackson Civic Center in January, 1979 with our first performance.  South Jackson Civic Association has operated for the past twenty-five years as a presenting organization, museum, and community resource

Tullahoma Dining: Tullahoma has many of the major restaurant chains including Applebees, Ruby Tuesday, Red Lobster, etc.  an interesting place to eat might be Granny Fishes' House and Nut Cave Trout Farm.  I think you can pay to fish there and they will cook it for you.

The Old Stone Fort is a 2000-year-old American Indian ceremonial site located in Machester, TN (about 10 miles from Tullahoma). It consists of mounds and walls which combine with cliffs and rivers to form an enclosure measuring 1-1/4 miles around. The 50 acres enclosed seem to have served as a central ceremonial gathering place for some 500 years. Includes picnic area and campground.

Arrowheads/Aerospace Museum: The museum in Manchester (10 miles from Tullahoma), Tennessee is a treasure of local history.  Children may enjoy several collections of running Lionel trains, rocking horses and toys, etc. Admission is $4 per adult or a maximum of $12 per family.

Walking Horse Celebration: The historic Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration Grounds in Shelbyville, TN is home to The Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebrationsm, which takes place each year in late summer for the 11 days ending on the Saturday night before Labor Day.

Normandy Lake: Normandy Reservoir attracts bass anglers, campers, and boaters from a wide area. Barton Springs Recreation Area on the south shore of the reservoir is particularly popular.  Includes picnic area and campground.

Stone Door: Like most of the good hiking spots in southeastern Tennessee, Savage Gulf is a canyon at the edge of the Cumberland Plateau. In this case three separate canyons -- Big Creek, Collins and Savage -- join to form an large chasm. Overlooks along the rim of the plateau offer dramatic views into the gulf. Hikes in the area range from easy walks along the edge of the canyon to strenuous hikes down into the gulf itself. Also has multiple camping areas.

Fall Creek Falls: Located about an hour from Tullahoma.  Fall Creek Falls is paradise of more than 20,000 acres sprawled across the eastern top of the rugged Cumberland Plateau, Fall Creek Falls State Park is one of the most scenic and spectacular outdoor recreation areas in America. Laced with cascades, gorges, waterfalls, streams, and lush stands of virgin hardwood timber, the park beckons those who enjoy nature at her finest.

Tims Ford: Tims Ford State Park, located on the Tims Ford Reservoir in the rolling hills of southern middle Tennessee, is an outstanding recreational area and fishing paradise. The 10,700-acre Tims Ford Lake is one of the most picturesque in Tennessee and is regarded as one of the top bass fishing and recreational lakes in the Southeast.

Falls Mill: Nestled in a lush green cove along the banks of beautiful Factory Creek stands historic Falls Mill. Built in 1873 as a cotton and woolen factory, the mill was later converted for use as a cotton gin, then as a woodworking shop. Today the water wheel powers millstones that grind cornmeal, flour, and grits.  Tours, bed & breakfast, log cabins, country store.

Jack Daniels: the number 1 distillery for Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey.  Very good tour.  Located in Lynchburg, TN

Lynchburg, TN: An old fashioned town, the likes of which you may have thought no longer existed. A charming town square surrounds the 100 year old courthouse. You will soon be browsing leisurely through a variety of unique shops. No need to hurry. Just stop and chat awhile. Life moves at a slower pace in Lynchburg.

Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House:  Miss Mary Bobo's restaurant is located in the heart of tiny Lynchburg, Tennessee, population 601, near the world-famous Jack Daniels distillery. To reach it, "Go to the town square. Turn right at the gazebo. Miss Mary's is the third house on the left. Look for the white picket fence." And there it is; a lovely two-story white Federal house shaded by ancient trees.  Be sure and make your reservations early.  It is easier to get reservations on a weekday.

Bell Buckle, TN: Established in 1852, the little town of Bell Buckle has become known far and wide for antiques, quilts, handmade crafts, country music, home-cooking and Southern hospitality. Thousands of visitors are drawn each year to visit the charming downtown with its shops and eateries and participate in the annual festivals.
