This year's San Diego Regional CATESOL Conference, hosted by Palomar College at the San Diego County Office of Education from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on October 16, is sure to enhance both teaching and learning.

 

Featured plenary speaker, Mark Wade Lieu, is the recipient of the latest CATESOL Sadae Iwataki Lifetime Achievement Award and a former president of the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges. Mark will address forecasts for the 2010-2011 California state budget, its effects on ESL instruction in public education, and the challenges the ESL profession faces in the coming years.

 

The conference will offer workshops, level raps, special sessions, and publisher exhibitions. Participants are invited to gain exciting insights into methodologies and practices, peruse new materials, share ideas and network as well as renew enthusiasm and strengthen dedication to the profession.
