Welcome to the website of the First SIAM SDM Workshop on Multimedia Data MiningThe theme of this year's workshop is "mining multimodal correlations from mix-media structured and unstructured data sets." However, papers in areas related to general topics of multimedia data mining are welcome to submit. For a list of topics of interest, please see this page. The Multimedia Data Mining workshop at the 2009 SIAM SDM conference, brings together experts from various fields: digital media, multimedia database, multimedia information retrieval, spatial data analysis, web search, collaborative virtual environments, and of course, data mining and knowledge discovery. The goal is to provide a venue where researchers from both academia and industry can exchange latest results and advances in the general area of multimedia data mining. Latest Announcements
| Important DatesJanuary 31, 2009: Electronic paper submission deadline February 9, 2009 February 14, 2009: Camera ready version submission deadline May 2, 2009: Workshop date (Note) April 30 to May 2, 2009: SIAM SDM 2009 conference dates Submission InstructionsThe Paper Submission Site is at https://cmt.research.microsoft.com/SDM2009/. Please first sign up as an user of the system, then follow the instructions to submit your paper. Submitted papers should have a maximum length of 12 page (single-spaced, 2 column, 10 point font, and at least 1" margin on each side). Authors should use US Letter (8.5" x 11") paper size. Papers must have an abstract with a maximum of 300 words and a keyword list with no more than 6 keywords. We would like to encourage you to prepare your paper in LaTeX2e. Papers should be formatted using the SIAM SODA macro, which is available through the SIAM website. You can access it at http://www.siam.org/books/authors/p_handbook8.php. The filename is soda2e.all. Make sure you use the macros for SODA and Data Mining Proceedings; papers prepared using other proceedings macros will not be accepted. Please see the Submission Instructions page for more details.
