Combat Training

Description: The Combat Training Screen Saver shows a Viper from the Battlestar Galactica series (the old series) training for combat with various maneuvers and firing over the Battlestar.  The Combat Training screen saver is available free of charge, so feel free to download and install it.

Requirements: The following software must be installed for the software to function properly:

  • Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 or better
  • Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1
  • Microsoft DirectX 9 Redistributable or better
  • A graphics board supporting shader model 2.0

The software was tested on several systems with the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1, Microsoft XNA Framework Redistributable 3.1, and the DirectX Redistributable August 2009 version (9.27.1734).  (All packages are available on the download page, at Microsoft, or at http://www.download.com/.)

 

Installation: Unzip the archive and place the files “CombatTraining_v2-0.scr” and "WindowsUtilities.dll", and the folder "CombatTrainingContent_v2-0" in your Windows or your Windows\system32 folder.  You can then select the CombatTraining_v2-0 screen saver just like any other screen saver in the Display Properties on the tab “Screen Saver”.  (You can also test the screen saver before placing it in the Windows directory by double-clicking on the file "CombatTraining_v2-0.src".)

   

Things to know:

  • The program will terminate when any key is pressed or the mouse is moved.
