Sycamore Creek’s
Circulation Policy and Media Procedures

Our Mission Statement:
Sycamore Creek’s Media Center, an environment that fosters a love for reading, promotes students as lifelong learners, while encouraging the use of print and non-print resources to gain knowledge and understanding of a wide range of age-appropriate topics.
Circulation Policy
Students in grades 1-5 may checkout two books at a time.
Kindergarten students may checkout one book first and second quarter and two books third and fourth quarter.
Books are loaned for seven days.
All students may renew books for 14 additional days unless there is a “hold” placed on the book.
Holds must be checked out within 24 hours.
Students may checkout books during open circulation hours and class scheduled times.
Students must pay for lost or damaged books before borrowing another book. Notices regarding lost or damaged books are sent home in Weekly Friday Folders.
Sycamore staff members are sole borrowers of reference books and audio-visual equipment.
Computer Use
Computers in the media center are networked to the Internet and to Wake County’s Destiny Circulation system. Students are allowed to use the Internet and search books if permission is granted on his/her Wake County Internet Consent Form (on file in cumulative folder). |
