New Treasurer Aileen Smart has agreed to be our Group Treasurer and Judy Jones will be treasurer for the National Weekend. Annual General Meeting A well attended AGM was held at the Woodside Hotel in Doune on Saturday 10th March. Joan Gichrist was elected as Vice Convenor and replaced as Secretary by Gwen Beales. Brenda White and Helen Thomson were elected to the committee replacing Colin Cutlet and Elaine Mackay who had completed the maximum of three years service. The committee has coopted Colin Cutler, Albert Heasman and Stewart McKee. National Weekend There are still some places remaining. If you are interested you can download an information sheet an application form. Scottish members are most welcome to apply. Our group will be organising a residential weekend in Dunblane from Friday 8th to Sunday 10th June 2012 for members from all over Britain. There will be visits to three gardens on both the Saturday and the Sunday, plant sales and evening lectures. The weekend will be based at the Dunblane Hydro Hotel. We are looking for some of our members to act as couriers on the coaches and in back-up cars. Please contact Joan Gilchrist if you would like to help. More information in the 2012 Programme. Northern Leaves We will now be producing two editions of our journal Northern Leaves per year, one in June and the other in late November. A shortened newsletter containing only news and no articles will come out in April soon after the AGM. The newsletter will be sent out by email to as many members as possible to reduce costs. It will also appear on this website. Stewart McKee and Fran Scott who are joint editors will be pleased to receive articles from members.
