What you can do to help

  • Get involved in a local group and help add to our knowledge of the distribution of species by submitting records.
  • Don't fertilise old lawns because they can support diverse assemblages of grassland fungi
  • Increase the amount of large deadwood if you're lucky enough to manage a woodland
  • Follow the Scottish Wild Mushroom Collecting Code
  • Get involved with the Scottish database cleaning project - you don't need to be an expert mycologist!
  • Run a local foray - again, you don't need to be an expert to do this and there is plenty of advice to hand.
