scootervineburghScooter Vineburgh has been playing music professionally for fourteen years. He plays congas, shakers, djembe, the Roland Handsonic, cajon, cymbals, snare drum, and also uses a PC for sampling and backing support. He has shared the stage with artists including the Black Crowes, Eric Burdon and the Animals, Big Head Todd, Maceo Parker, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Charlie Hunter, and others. He has performed with members of Soulive, War, and many other great artists. Scooter has also been credited with soundtrack work on several motion pictures. Additionally, he has worked as a music therapist and currently teaches digital music production to gifted school-aged students at the University of Iowa, where he is studying to earn a PhD focusing on educational technology. In the Minimalist Orchestra, Scooter writes the lyrics, composes and arranges loops of drums, bass and melodic instruments, and then performs them on a PC-based sampler/sequencer while playing live percussion on top. Kerry Schneider sings and adds vocal effects while Ed Guild projects improvised video on screens, walls, people, etc. Their recently completed album, Arrivals and Departures, was recorded, mixed, and mastered in various locations from Boston to the Midwest as all of the members traded files over the internet – collaborating via email from start to finish. For the album, Misha Rutman added beats, samples, composed original loops and arrangements, and played guitar. He also mixed all of the tracks and helped with the mastering process. Dr Nigel added keyboards, contributed to the mixing, and was responsible for the final mastering of the project. Scooter is extremely grateful to play with such talented friends.Using computer technology in unique ways to present audio and video, the Minimalist Orchestra can perform with all of the members or solely as Scooter playing live while sampling all of the other members.Sound SampleAwards and PressAdditional InfoContact |
