JEB: ENTRANCE
AGE
In an attempt to permit children to
enter kindergarten or first grade at the time most appropriate for them
individually, the School Committee establishes the following policy on entrance
age:
1.
Children who will be five years of age on or before August 31 of the school
year during which they wish to enroll will be eligible to enter kindergarten in
September.
2.
Initial admission of children to the first grade (or other grades) will involve
a consideration of both chronological age and the readiness of the children to
do the work of those grades.
