EEAEA: BUS DRIVER EXAMINATION AND TRAINING
The School Committee will reserve the
right to approve or disapprove persons employed by the bus contractor to drive
school transportation vehicles.
- Courteous and
careful drivers will be required.
- Each driver will
file with school officials a medical certificate.
- No person under
18 years of age and only persons of high character will be allowed to operate
school buses.
- Only persons who
are properly licensed by the state and have completed the driver-training
program will be permitted to drive school buses.
- The contractor
will furnish the School Committee with a list of names of drivers and their
safety records for the last three years.
- In case of any
change of bus drivers, the contractor will notify the school departments bus
coordinator as soon as possible prior to the change or as soon after the change
as possible.
- The contractor
will provide all necessary information so the Georgetown Public Schools may
conduct CORI checks on drivers.
