DBJ: BUDGET TRANSFER AUTHORITY
In keeping with the need for periodic reconciliation of the School Department's annual budget, the School Committee will review and approve budget transfer requests during a School Committee regular or special meeting, as they are recommended by the Superintendent and/or the Business Administrator. All budget transfer recommendations are to be approved prior to any member of the Administration committing any funds that would require a budget transfer. Line items will be defined by the School Committee as follows:

*Transfers out of textbook accounts must have prior School Committee approval.
Warrants and Funds Transfer Forms will be made available at the Superintendent's Office/Business Office for review by School Committee members prior to each School Committee regular or special meetings.
For transfers not required to be approved by the School Committee, a summary statement will be provided at the next monthly meeting.
Note: This format allows for discretionary transfers within each line item. Example: a transfer of $200 from the High School Science Supplies to Art Equipment would not need School Committee approval, but a transfer between High School Science Supplies and Custodial Supplies would need approval as we are transferring across established line items.
