AIMS AND OBJECTIVES Of SCIMATECH

 

         i.            To use Science and Technology, and Mathematics in the national development process and we reflect on 25 years of Independence in St. Kitts and Nevis.

 

       ii.            To popularise Science, Mathematics and Technology in schools/colleges and in the wider society.

 

   iii.      To sensitise the students and the general public toward the problem solving and inquiry approach by focusing on local, national and regional (Caribbean) problems.

 

   iv.          To build students’ and the general public’s confidence in applying science for industrial and technological innovations.

  

   v.            To build students' and the general public’s confidence in applying science to bring about social and behavioural changes for the development of our society.

 

     vi.            To emphasise the importance of mathematical skills.

 

    vii.            To encourage and guide students towards careers based in Science and Technology.

 

  viii.            To encourage excellence in Science, Mathematics and Technology through participation.

 

 ix.   To encourage a variety of approaches in the teaching-learning environment with emphasis on project/product development.
