Microbes talk, and we are listening in. Our group in the Department of Microbiology at Oregon State University is interested in the molecular mechanisms that govern cell-cell communication in bacteria. The soil bacterium and opportunistic pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa serves as our model system.
