School Improvement Council

The School Improvement Council (SIC) serves as an  advisory committee to the school's administration and faculty.  It is unlike other committees or organizations in that it is mandated by law to exist in every public school in South Carolina.  FDES' SIC plays an important role in the education of our children by fostering two-way communication between the school, parents, and the community.  By doing this, everyone becomes a stakeholder in our school working towards the common goal of improving and making FDES a leader in elementary education.   Currently there are 5 community members, 9 parents, two teachers, and two administrators that make up the School Improvement Council.  The SIC meets monthly in the school's Media Center at 6:00 p.m.
