 Scholastic Chinese Academy is a non-for-profit organization that was formed as a service to the Hyde Park, Chicago community. It was created to provide language and cultural training for parents interested in  instilling Chinese culture and language into their children.  Our first semester started in the Summer of 2007.  The school is a legal non-for-profit entity with a board of directors and a management team.

Address: 5144 South Cornell Ave. Chicago, IL 60615. 

The school is independent of the HPCRC.  It uses the church’s facilities, but it is not run by the church.  It has its own administration and board of directors.  

Strengths of the school:
Teachers:  All the teachers hold PhD or master’s degrees, or are professional school teachers.  Those who have not taught before are trained by professional teachers. 

Facilities: The Chinese school uses HPCRC’s Sunday School classrooms.  There are audio and video equipment available.   

We currently offer three class levels :  beginner, intermediate, and advance.  Children range from 5-17.  This year, we are planning special 3-5 full-day culture immersion sessions during vacation that will include more than just language training.  Come check us out.

学校简介：

        翰林中国语言文化学校是一所刚刚诞生的新型中文学校。它面向海德园及其周边地区华人学生学者的子女 ，以教授中国语言 传播中国文化知识为办学宗旨。
         创办者：海德园基督教改革宗长老会部分会员。
         校址：芝加哥海德园基督教改革宗长老会。5144 South Cornell Ave. Chicago, IL 60615.
        实体性质：该校是独立的非营利性实体。它使用海德园教会的场所，但是在经济上和行政上不隶属于海德园教会。
        教师来源： 海德园教会会友，及其他合格專業教員，均有硕士或博士学历，或是专业中小学教师， 讲标准的普通话。
        所用教材: 《中文》，暨南大学出版社出版。
        預計在寒假舉辦全天的中國文化營。
