The project runs much like a Habitat for Humanity event.  We'll have many weekends of volunteer work on the site -- everything from painting walls to demolition, plumbing and electrical installation, landscaping, solar panels and insulation installation, all assisted by volunteers but supervised by expert contractors.  A few weekends will be large volunteer efforts, others will be smaller task forces.  Work will run throughout the quarter, with the houses opening their doors to residents in January. 

We're every bit as interested in making sure that volunteers have a chance to both learn a skill and particularly to learn about some aspect of green housing; and to feel the pride of being part of a community activity with tangible, long-lasting result, as in just getting help with the labor.
