Remember, too, the Men’s Dinner this evening with Bishop Robert - pray for fellowship, friendship and relationships Friday 4th Pray for the Kenyan MAF team led by Alan & Davina Sully, made up of 19 international and 53 local staff. They operate 6 aircraft in Kenya and surrounding countries, bringing urgently required supplies to the point of need. Saturday 5th Pray for Christians in Syria where churches are under threat, 50,000 people fled from the horrors of Homs, the country’s third largest city and where military action against women and children is rife. Sunday 6th Pray for our Queen and other members of the Royal Family who have supported, and are supporting, her through her Diamond Jubilee year Monday 7th Pray for all the work with the young people in this parish: for those who lead and for those who come to learn Tuesday 8th Pray for those who keep the Church up to date technically, be it through sound, especially for the deaf, vision or the maintenance of the web site Wednesday 9th Matthew 28: 16-20: Jesus said ‘Go and make disciples of all nations.’ Pray too for the charities who continue this work today Thursday 10th Pray for the hangar extensions planned in Lesotho, the very poor country land locked in South Africa. MAF enjoys a great relationship with their military Friday 11th Thank the Lord for the skill and dedication of the cancer unit at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, who have made a breakthrough in radium technology. They can now use 100 times stronger doses of radium, more accurately targeted at the cancer cells, with much less damage to surrounding cells. Patients benefit from 3 instead of 30 doses of radium with virtually no side effects Saturday 12th Pray for the work of the Carlisle Street Pastors, especially for Joan Hotton who recently completed her night session. Pray for safety, wisdom and the opportunity for good conversations. Sunday 13th Pray for today’s 10.30am service when Mr. Robert McQuistan, from the Newton Stewart branch of the Scotland Area of MAF, Mission Aviation Fellowship, will bring God’s word to the congregation Monday 14th Pray for the continuing good work of our church fabric committee meeting this evening. Pray for clarity and inspiration as they seek to help us to engage with God’s word Thursday 24th Pray for the Olympic & Para Olympic 2012 games, for the contestants who are training vigorously now, for the organisation and the organisers, for safety and security and for the obvious presence of the Lord Friday 25th Pray for the Bible Society workers like Kun Thea, who reads the bible to children in Cambodia. The society plans to distribute 100,000 bibles and 120,000 New Testaments, also to teach 20,000 people to read over the next 5 years. Meanwhile the Gideons have distributed 380,000+ Scriptures in Costa Rica Saturday 26th Pray for the MAF team located in Sentani, Papua, where the norm is demos and power cuts and where a recent earthquake of 6.2 on the Richter scale was 60 miles away and left people in shock! Sunday 27th Pray for the Paton family: Tony, Katherine, Anna, Innes Euan and Eilidh Thea now back in Laos. Ask for God’s guidance and provision for them as they serve Him in Laos Monday 28th Pray for those who live in your street and those you meet through work or social activities, that they might see God reflected in our lives Tuesday 29th Pray for our young people and their leaders.
